Bed bugs present a significant challenge to eradicate because of their secretive behavior and nocturnal feeding habits. They have the ability to invade any household by attaching themselves to items such as luggage, bags, furniture, or appliances. Consequently, seeking professional assistance is often essential for effective management and control.
At EM Pest Control, our bed bug experts can eliminate even the most stubborn infestations. They have the right skills and methods.
Looking to Get Rid of Bed Bugs?
Most adult bed bugs are about 3/16" long and are oval and flat in shape. They are brown to reddish brown in color after a blood meal.
Nymphs (young) resemble adults but are smaller and pale in color. After molting (shedding their skin) they are white in color and then light tan before feeding. Bed bugs have no wings; however, they can crawl long distances (in excess of 100 feet) for a blood meal.
What Are the Signs of An Infestation?
- Small reddish brown or black fecal spots on the mattresses, upholstery, covers, sheets, pillowcases, and walls.
- Molt bed bug skins, their white eggs or empty eggshells.
- Signs of bed bug bites, including red, itchy bite marks on the legs, arms and other body parts exposed while sleeping.
- Very heavy infested areas may have a characteristically sweet odor.
How Do You Get Rid of Bed Bugs?
The earlier you can tackle a bed bug infestation, the better. Although you may be inclined to DIY pest control when it comes to bed bugs, you are much better off with professional help. DIY efforts may reduce your bed bug population but will not completely get rid of them. You must kill every last bed bug.
