Deer Mouse

Size: 5 to 8 inches long
Characteristics: brown or tan fur with white bellies and legs.
Habitat: Build nests in trees or beneath logs outdoors; inside, often found in basements or attics. Deer mice often prepare their nests in old fence posts, tree hollows, log piles, and beneath decks.
Habits:
- Prefer to nest outdoor areas will enter into properties if the weather is cold.
- Like house mice, deer mice can spread diseases through food contamination. Deer mice also carry Hantavirus.

Norway Rats

Size: 7-9 ½ inches long
Rats will kill mice if they are in the same property.
Their fur is shaggy and brown or grey in color.
To get inside, Norway rats will find an entry point and gnaw to make it bigger. They can chew through wood, pipes, and wires, causing immense damage in the process.
Rats will nest in underground burrows. They will burrow under and around sheds, homes, businesses, fences, garbage bins, and concrete slabs.
Just like mice, Norway rats are carriers of various diseases that can transfer to humans through urine and feces.
